A Pennsylvania non-profit corporation
A diverse (mainly) outdoor activities recreation organization.
A Pennsylvania non-profit whose proceeds benefit (non-government) environmental causes….Former recipients include The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, Sierra Club, and The World Wildlife Fund.
An organization attracting both singles and couples in search of new adventures, and to meet others who share like leisure time interests.
Dedicated to having fun, learning new skills, meeting new challenges, and living life to the fullest.
What we are not…
A singles club…Although many participants are single.
A social club…Although activities do provide social encounters.
A dating service…Although some date after meeting upon an event.
A group who believes that sipping a cocktail on the deck or patio is an outdoor adventure……Although this, for some, does occur following an outdoor adventure…..We’ve been told.
A group of ‘couch potatoes’, with no motivation to expand the vast array of recreational possibilities in our lives.
What we do...
Badminton…Barbecues…Biking…Camping…Canoeing…Caving…Glider soaring…Hiking…Horseback riding…Hot air ballooning...House parties…Kayaking…Photography…Rappelling…Rock climbing…Sailing…Skiing (Alpine & Nordic)…Travel…Ultralight flying…Whitewater rafting…Wine tastings…and more!

What to expect...
Since most people come alone, It’s important to understand that you’ll feel welcome and at ease when you arrive.
Carpool meeting points and directions are provided via email usually on the Thursday evening prior to a Saturday or Sunday event.
Carpooling is arranged, at no charge, for most events…so you’ll be making new friends even before you arrive at the activity. With today's high fuel prices, it's good to know that others will be sharing the cost of gas and tolls.
Sometimes, after the activity, you'll be invited to join us for a drink and/or snack at a local pub.
Rain cancels most one day events…Sometimes you’ll be offered a rain date, but always the choice of a refund. So there really is no need to be constantly watching the weather forecast prior to committing.
What to bring...
For Biking…..Bike & helmet (required), daypack (small backpack), and plenty of water. Lunch is not usually included…see Activities Schedule.
For Hiking…..Hiking boots (preferred & sometimes required), daypack, plenty of water. Lunch is sometimes included…see Schedule.
For Rock Climbing…..lightweight layered clothing, shorts or loose fitting or stretch trousers, and plenty of water. Lunch is not usually included…see Schedule.
For all outdoor diversions…..Get enough sleep, have a good breakfast, and bring a poncho or other raingear!
Click on theOutdoor Tips button to become even more prepared for the outdoors.
For travel with DD…..A comprehensive ‘what-to-bring’ list is always provided prior to the trip.
Travel...
Previous destinations have included: Austria…British Virgin Islands (Sailing)…Canada’s Maritimes…Canadian Rockies…Costa Rica…East Africa…Hawaii…New Zealand…Portugal…St. Lucia & the Grenadines (Sailing)…Switzerland…Tuscany & Umbria, Italy...US west coast…and Vermont (Skiing).
Future destinations will include: British Virgin Islands sailing (February, 2008)…Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks…and more!
Most of DD’s major trips are 7-9 days, with a few as long as 2 weeks in duration, and all are priced to save you big bucks, without sacrificing accommodation quality. Most accommodations are 3-4 star, except for camping and rustic cabins in state parks. Roommates are usually available for anyone coming alone, and single supplements are an option at a slightly higher price. Airline seats can be secured, for anyone wishing to join us, from anywhere in the world. Also, many of our trips focus on one or two activities, such as hiking, sailing, skiing, exploring, etc. All of our trips include a post-trip party with a slide show of the trip. One thing they all have in common, however, is that we do have fun…and lots of laughs!
Dining with DD...
When we travel, many high quality meals, or a monetary allotment toward items on the menu, are always included in the trip price. We like good food!
During one day diversions, especially hiking, a delicious deli-style meal is sometimes included. No one ever goes away hungry!
Special dietary requirements? Give a little notice, and we’ll accommodate!
